1. What This Page Covers

This page explains how 140 Brain Challenges uses cookies and similar technologies, including localStorage, which the application uses for some tasks instead of cookies.

2. Strictly Necessary

These are technical elements the application needs in order to work, such as storing the signed-in session for registered users. They do not require consent because the requested function would not be possible without them.

3. Our Own Usage Logging

On every visit the application stores a random session identifier (lc_session_id) in localStorage and records in its own database which pages, cards and filters you use. For signed-in users, records are linked to the account so we can count active users. Records are kept for 24 months.

4. Google Analytics and Meta Pixel - Only With Your Consent

Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) load only after you click "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. Until you choose, or if you click "Only necessary", neither is loaded and no data is sent to Google or Meta. If you accept, they are used for audience measurement and to measure our advertising, and they receive data about your visit such as your IP address, browser details and the pages and cards you view.

Cookies set after consent: _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics, up to 2 years), _fbp and _fbc (Meta Pixel, up to 90 days). Google and Meta may transfer this data outside the European Economic Area; such transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The legal basis is your consent, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a).

5. Changing or Withdrawing Your Choice

You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page, or with the button below. Choosing "Only necessary" stops both services straight away and deletes the _ga, _ga_*, _fbp and _fbc cookies from this site. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before. You can also delete cookies and site data, or block them, through your browser settings.
